Video call experiments
Some prototypes using projectors and webcams.
Sometimes you want to show slides in video calls, but
- showing slides shifts attention from your face, which damages the social interaction; and
- the slides aren't responsive to what you're saying.
There’s all that empty space over your shoulders! What if you want to do a quick sketch? Couldn’t you do it there?
I built a lo-fi prototype to project my live sketches at my face and onto the wall behind.
Using virtual webcams I gave a number of presentations where my face and the content mixed freely, allowing new playful interactions.
